The Great Googa Mooga Videos

As much as I would love the chance to check out The Great Googa Mooga festival,  I live too far from Brooklyn to make that reality.  Stumbling across these fantastic food centric promos for the festival left me craving a pork belly bun and bagel and schmear.  I think they are pretty fantastic.
Enjoy!

Day Six.

Last Saturday Finn went down fast and when things were not improving nearly a week later we took him into the doctor and discovered he is suffering from bronchitis, ear infections and laryngitis.  No wonder he wasn't bouncing back!  A heaping dose of antibiotics should have Finn on the mend in no time.

In Charlie's Kitchen

“A jazz musician can improvise based on his knowledge of music. He understands how things go together. For a chef, once you have that basis, that's when cuisine is truly exciting.”

And an Intimate  Kitchen Tour:

“You know the old adage that the customer’s always right? Well, I kind of think that the opposite is true. The customer is rarely right. And that is why you must seize the control of the circumstance and dominate every last detail: to guarantee that they’re going to have a far better time than they ever would have had if they tried to control it themselves.”

Marta's Shower

I cannot even remember the last wedding shower I attended, but I was thrilled to be invited to Hot Chocolate last Sunday to share in my friend Marta's happiness.  Of course the men in her life were in attendance, but this afternoon was clearly all about the ladies.  Pen, Haj and I enjoyed a couple of Bellinis before indulging in some pretty glorious mac n' cheese and a series of tea sandwiches.  While Marta and Matt opened their gifts we were forced to eat tiny cupcakes and drink little malts.
What can I say?  I have a rough life.
Congrats Marta!
We are looking forward to your big day more than you could ever know!

Gala Fare

When you've been busy prepping for a huge event for several days it feels like nothing short of a miracle when it all comes together in the end!  Last night Pilgrim Community Nursery School hosted a benefit at Unity Temple and I was lucky enough to provide the food!  Thank goodness for reinforcements; my army of kitchen helpers made quick work of assembling nearly 2500 appetizers over the course the the evening.  The mood was festive and appetites were hearty.  I adore doing what I love most to help worthy organizations raise much needed money to support their programs and missions and last night was no exception.  Take a look at the few of the 1920's inspired nibbles we prepared last night...

Thanks to Patty, Oliver, Rhonda, Jules, Sue and Kelsey for working hard to pull it all together!

Signage!

Emma came home with her version of a high school yard sign last night!  Don't let the fact that isn't a more traditional soccer, football, or lacrosse sign fool you; these OPRF dancers are no joke.  They are dancing nearly five days per week right now and having a marvelous time together.  Emma and company are busy preparing for the upcoming Orchesis shows that revolve around a Disney-Pixar theme.  Emma is lucky enough to play Cinderella in a lovely little piece set to music by Florence and the Machine.
