Resolution: $20 per day.

Last year we decided to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle as part of our New Year's resolutions and all four of us found the experience tremendously rewarding.  When it came to make our food resolution for 2012,  we reflected on the past year and felt extremely appreciative of our vast and privileged dining experiences in 2011.  We wouldn't trade any of them for the world, but our extravagant meals made us think about eating on a budget...a really tight budget.

Four folks, three meals a day, $100/week.
Yep, we are adopting a $20/day challenge for 30 days.

And we're going to try to make healthy choices on our limited budget.
That will mean a lot of eating in...buying generic...and counting pennies!
We may be insane, but we'll probably learn a little something about stretching a dollar along the way. You can keep track of our progress on the page above if you'd like. We'll see how it goes...

We spend a fortune on food -- and I really do try to watch it. I'm super excited about this!!!
