The Next Round.

If you have an ounce of foodie blood in your veins, I am sure you've heard about the ticket sales insanity plaguing an innovative restaurant over the past couple of days.  I knew it was a small miracle that I secured the Kitchen Table for Next's Paris, 1906 cycle and I had grave concerns that I was going to miss out on Next's Tour of Thailand when I learned thousands of eager ticket hungry, refresh-button-hitting, food aficionados crashed the website before it even opened yesterday and forced the postponement of ticket sales.  In that moment I decided to remain optimistic about the sale today, but not to care at all if I missed out.  After all, it wouldn't be the end of the world if I didn't get to taste the fried banana. Right?

Well 16,000 people logged on at the height of ticket sales today.  16,000 people attempting to purchase 2,000 tables...you do the math.  I was one of those 16,000 except I was driving my minivan through Glenview while vocally instructing my children on how to purchase a ticket!  Eventually, I pulled over and realized it just wasn't going to happen for me this time around; the site was limping along at best and all I had was a cell phone, but I still had hope!
And Yes.  I am going to  Next.  Again.
My neighbor Matt and I made a deal to try to get a four top and split it if either of us got through and Matt did!  I tell you, that was probably the best text message I ever received!  Even though I had told myself I wouldn't care if I missed out on the Thai menu I wasn't being truthful with myself; I cared a lot about returning to Next and I am thrilled to death that an agreement made across our  back alley with a longtime friend and neighbor got the job done.  You know, sometimes I just love the suburbs!
Tour of Thailand here we come!

Oh...and all the tickets sold out in under 90 minutes.
This is going to be the best double date ever!

I'm so excited you get to go! I tried, but am just going to need to wait to see if any nights works for a same night ticket. Can't wait to hear all about it.
