San Fran Day 2

We took the kids over to Haight Ashbury for a walk and some shopping in the morning near the famous intersection where the hippie movement began.  Emma fell in love with the bohemian vibe and I really fought the urge to get a new tattoo!  Before Emma left the family and I ended up with more ink, Leif smartly took us all out to lunch.
Leif was first exposed to Burmese food in San Francisco when he was consulting at the presidio several years ago.  He has never forgotten that meal and when four people recommended we dine at Burma Superstar we figured we had better get on board!  What an outstanding meal!  I've decided that my ongoing Father's Day gift to Leif will be perfecting some Burmese dishes to make at home!

Following lunch we took a car down Lombard Street...the crookedest street in the world.  The eight switchbacks make for a funny ride and the kids were delighted to check it out!

We finished out our time in San Francisco with a little late night sushi, but not before making good on our promise that Finn could see Alcatraz!  The tour was eerie and chilling and utterly informative; Finn selected one of the best activities of the trip!  All four of us were thrilled with the experience.
