Modern Day Quilting Bee.

The evening prior to the Irving Staff Appreciation Luncheon is by far one of my favorite nights of the year!  My house gets completely overrun with creatives and cooks striving to put the finishing touches on our grand vision to honor our hardworking teachers and staff.  The truth is I am honored that so many of them can find the fun in an evening of this nature.  My friend Tee refers to this night as a 'modern day quilting bee' and after watching a group of ladies make apple pies in my dining room I have to agree with her assessment!  As wine and laughter flowed we tied up thank you notes, whipped up gravy, folded napkins, made garlands and stuffing and cinnamon croutons.  The last hearty souls left my house at 2:30am even though the work was done well before that hour!   I think this is a night I will miss hosting next year!

Oh, I missed this day!!!!! Seriously Melissa, great job. It looks like a perfect event, and I'm so happy to see some new familiar faces there.

There was some serious action at the pie table. It was fun to watch.
