Lights. Camera. Pancakes.

Well, I just had the best day! My friend and camera man, Chris, suggested I prepare a dish for a feature about accomplished home cooks for WCIU's ongoing culinary segments called For the Love of Cooking. I was quite flattered and of course, I couldn't pass up a fun opportunity to turn my kitchen into a cooking show studio, but I must admit shining bright lights on the tops of your kitchen cabinets is quite the house keeping eye opener!
Host, Jane Monzures, is totally adorable super fun to be around and she sure knows how to put a nervous novice at ease. I even think she liked my savory pancakes and syrup! I loved the fact our afternoon ended around my dining room table with a little something bubbly in hand. To be honest, she could have stayed for dinner if she wanted!
The production side of the day was really interesting. Jane and I cooked the pancakes twice; once with both of us in the shot and then a second time with the camera focused on our hands and the food. Chris clearly knows what he is doing and I think he has more than enough footage to make a 3 minute and 30 second spot!

Savory Pancakes and Syrup
Wild mushroom, sun dried tomato and herb pancakes with goat cheese and black pepper creme and vanilla balsamic syrup.
I am anxious to see the spot when it airs and I totally loved chefing it up for the cameras at home. This was a first for me.

Why do you do this to me? We are in touch with each other at least a few times a week. In fact, I believe a couple emails were exchanged today even. And this is the first I'm hearing about this? What a fun and amazing day for you! P.S. Sure I'll bring some wine.
