Heating up the holidays

We decided to forgo our holiday party this year in order to make budgeting for our big family road trip this summer a little easier, but once we put the tree up I realized I just had to host a little something to add some merry and bright to our holiday season. An intimate dinner party seemed like the perfect solution. After taking in Emma's brief winter dance recital, we settled in with our dear friends Billy and Lora and Brian and Angela for a spicy holiday meal.
Poblano Chiles Rellenos with Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Sauce, Black Beans, and Cotija Cheese.
Seared Scallop with Avocado Tangerine Puree, Roasted Jalapeno Pesto, and Cumin Dusted Blue Corn Tortilla Chips
Fried Chicken and Pumpkin Molé with Queso Fresco, Pepita, Ancho Chile, Scallions and Lime

Cheeses and Chocolates
Thank goodness the kids all stayed together at Brian and Angela's house because our little dinner party came to an end around 3:30am! Our dinner was a celebration of good food and even better friends that led to a much needed hearty breakfast with the kids at The Depot this morning! Needless to say, we all had a
marvelous time!
You four sure know how to bring the jolly to our lives!
