Subject to Interpretation.

This morning I was lucky enough to spend some time in the stunning John L. Simmons home designed by E.E. Roberts in 1912. This breath-taking home was prominently featured on a notable house walk in Oak Park entitled, Pleasant Homes: A Tour of Oak Park Arts and Crafts Interiors. This fairly laid back home tour benefits the Pleasant Home Foundation and my friend Andrew, not only had a hand in the extensive remodel of this property in 2005, but also served as house captain during the walk today. Angela and I volunteered to serve a shift as room interpreters to support Andrew and take advantage this unique opportunity to see a few fantastic homes! I interpreted the kitchen and the foyer in the Simmons House and I have to admit I loved this volunteer opportunity! I just adore using phrases like, "Amish quarter sawn oak cabinetry in the Shaker style" and " Absolute Black Granite." Thanks for trusting me with the job Andrew!
