Camping: The Middle

After waking up on Sunday, we chased away the morning chill with some piping hot coffee around the campfire and filled our bellies with some delicious breakfast burritos. From there we took a simply gorgeous drive through the country to spend part of the day exploring New Glarus.
New Glarus is a darling community with charm to spare and while I was giddy to discover the local meat market, the highlight of the day was touring the New Glarus Brewery. Amy and Graham treated us all to a tour and tasting in the immaculate new facility! I was quite taken with their Abby Ale called Stone Soup and Wisconsin Belgian Red. The tart Door County cherry ale has a robust fruit forward profile and I snagged a bottle to use as part of a dish for a dinner party I am throwing later in the week! It was an absolute delight sitting in the sunshine sipping a few lovely beers among friends in the country!

After finishing a little lunch back at the campsite we headed out for more hiking and fishing. We rounded out the day with brats and dogs and the most blissful night's sleep I've had in quite a long time! The temperatures on our little get away hovered in the mid 70's with dips into the 50's overnight; perfect fall camping weather!

A very determined Emma Grace finally caught a little fish! She was quite proud and was happy to throw the little guy back in the lake.
