Leif at the Ballet

Since completing business school last March, Leif has been making every effort to play a more active and present role in our family. We lost a good deal of time with Leif to his studies and we all love having him back, but today he may have taken things a bit too far! Today featured the parents meeting at the Joffrey...a two hour meeting with 122 children and as many parents. Following, several parents and myself, planned to put together the favors for the children's cast party.
Leif expressed an interest in going along today and like a good wife I promptly tried to talk him out of it....I have been to this meeting twice before and let me say it is a long long day at the ballet. Nevertheless he made his way down town, sat on a hard dance studio floor while parents mulled over double French braids vs the top of head bun and the things naughty Nutcracker kids had done to get kicked out of the show. Lipstick shades, pick-up instructions, and what to do if you accidentally walk in on a naked ballerina were all covered topics. Leif was riveted (not!) and ended the day learning how to tie two candy canes together with assorted colorful ribbons...125 of them over 90 minutes; Leif finished 4.
He was pretty darn adorable, but I am fairly confident that is the last the Joffrey will ever see of Leif on parent meeting day!!

Remember he is a "dancer's dad". You will never see them until either class is over or at the recital. I always wonder if my own students have dads because at the end of the recital the fathers will come up to me and say how beautiful their little dancer was. My question to them, "Who is your dancer, cause I have no idea who you are?"....lol
